Primary 20 - Air and Light

Image
Wonderful class, We are discussing missionary work and the trip home. The missionaries in D&C 58-59 had completed the course at hand and were going home. These young men, to some, we're told it mattered not how they got home while others were told a particular path. Why? We are going to make a comparison through an example?  The Jaredites when crossing the great waters to the promised land came to two issues; one, air, two, light. Now one is vitally important; air and the other (light) could go any number of ways. The Lord told the brother of Jared exact details for the source of air but on the other hand, he asked for A solution when it came to light. The boats could off been dark and would not of put them in danger, but the Lord asked the prophet to stretch and exercise faith and it changed all of the family and friends lives. What a contrast. The Lord when you continue to mature will ask you to choose your own outcome in situations that do not threaten your life

Primary 19 - Choice and Accountability

quotesgram.com Our dear brothers and sisters, Let us remind you that the Lord is with you and will keep you safe if you stay close to His Spirit your constant companion, the Holy Ghost.  This week we want to emphasize the importance of accountability for temporal and spiritual things. We are responsible for what we do in this life and in the life to come. No one else will bear our sins if we do not constantly repent and work hard to be better in easy times and know where to turn in hard times. Heavenly Father has given us all a mind to think and a body to do His work. Above it all a sensitive spirit is in each of us that is driven to listen to when ever the Spirit speaks. On top of great spirits each of you are he has given you all talents and gifts and with your accountability, you have the ability and opportunity to change lives. Jesus when he was going to be hung on the cross asked Peter if he (Peter) loved Him. The reply was an astounded perhaps confused yes

Primary 18 - The Founding Path of Righteous Living

Brothers and Sisters,  we are so blessed to be able to be your teachers. This week has gone so fast. Hopefully you have had time to go over the reading and lesson this week. We are excited to see you in class on Sunday and review what we and hopefully you have learned this last week. As a brief review this week’s lesson focuses on the Savior being our Shepherd, growing spiritually and the importance of marriage between a man and a woman. Jesus Christ is our Shepherd. What does that actually mean? What do Shepherds do for their flocks that sheep herders don't? What are they willing to sacrifice for their flocks that the hired hand doesn't? A Shepherd is someone that guides and protects sheep. They are willing to do anything to keep them safe even laying down their lives to protect their flocks. The hired hand does a job and looks out for his own skin. Christ did this for us as our she

Primary 17 - Gifts of the Spirit

Our dear class, We are so blessed in this generation and at this time to see all the miracles that have come because of the constant rushing and outpouring of gifts and blessings. Let us start this lesson with this quote. "These gifts are infinite in number and endless in their manifestations because God himself is infinite and endless, and because the needs of those who receive them are as numerous, varied, and different as there are people in the kingdom. All saints are commanded to seek earnestly the best gifts. Chief among them are the testimony of Jesus, a believing spirit, divine wisdom, heavenly knowledge, faith in the Lord, the working of miracles, prophecy, the beholding of angels and ministering spirits, the discerning of spirits, tongues and their interpretations, the gift of preaching, administrative ability, and the insight to discern and recognize all of the gifts of God, lest there be confusion or deception in the Church."   - Bruce R McConkie  (D&a

Primary 16 - Trials to Blessings

Our dear brothers and sisters,  This week we are talking about the Section 45. Now, this section has a lot of end times references that we are sure shock and perhaps terrorized the saints as it does sometimes today. While it's TRUE that crazy days are ahead, the Lord 365 times tells us to fear not and doubt not (D&C 6:36) and "if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear" (D&C 38:30). Our dear young brothers and sisters, you are in a place where you are dependent on the Lord and your dear parents. A famous song says "dont worry, be happy" (ask your parents about it) and this applies when you are afraid, pray and sing the songs you remember as they are a prayer to the Lord and He hears you; remember that.  You may of heard the stories of the early saints and what they endured. Heavenly Father wants us to endure to the end. We cannot sress what the prophets have encouraged; bear your testimony,  say your prayers daily, read the Book of Mormon every da
