The parable of the coin

The coin had the countenance of the government or of the weakness of men. Who or what has the countenance of God?

Genesis says God made man in his image and likeness. While we are in His likeness or countenance, like the other side of the coin is His countenance upon us. Do we let it be part of us? Like a coin, do we beat the image of the King of heaven and earth? Do we reflect the image of a Zion people? Look at a coin from your pocket. Men of valor are reflected on one side and buildings of marvelous work are on the other side.

A coin experiences a lot of heat and pressure to become what it is. Do we experience the same and if so what pressures do we allow and what pressures do we resist? We are shaped daily by our experiences. Going on a mission, going to the temple or church forges us into who we are becoming. We resist sin, temptation and enticing of the devil. We seek places that make the Lord shine through us. Our testimony is constantly becoming harder and more unmovable as it solidifies. We seek daily to keep out impurities so that the Gospel shine forth.

When we are counted, will we be counted worthy or worthless? We are valued greater then crude silver or gold but how do we see our value? As children of God we see value in being active covenant people, in the Atonement, in repentance, in faith and hope. The challenge is helping others see it to. When I was a missionary helping others see it was a challenge and to be honest, I have never been released, and it's still my calling. If your on a mission, keep that calling eternally close, if you are home, remember, remember, remember who you are and the calling and covenants you have sought to never part from.

Some would say that some of us have a lower quality of metal or we are a misprint but I challenge you to look at the value of some of the most rare and precious coins. They are not perfect always but we esteem it's value by how it presents itself. Are we no different? Do we need to hide our flaws and weakness or the faces that are impressed on our soul? God is our Father a perfect being with perfect sons and daughters. The scripture says "Be ye therefore perfect even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect". Short comings allow us to see people the way others might not be able to. The Spirit allows us to project the light of Christ, the message of Christ through a prisem that would not reach otherwise. Let your light so shine that they may see your good works and glorify God who is in heaven for who you are, a coin that shines in trial and trouble. You will triumph if you press forward. Be an example. Shout Hosannah (God save us) to remind others that we honor the Lord, love Him and need Him daily.

You may be a change person today, moldable, but one day you will be fixed. Have a testimony that points to heaven is my prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
