Primary 149 - The Horsemen

Class,

I said last week I would talk about the Horseman of the Apocalypse, so let's discuss them. First before we start, I want you to know we will discuss how they affect us personally. The horsemen are like Jacob 5 in the Book of Mormon (story about the vineyard) both big picture and personal. The horsemen affect us collectively and personal.

War Horsemen - Satan is still at war with us and his sword of lies (opposite of the sword of truth we use in our armor of God) is beating constantly against our testimony of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. The horsemen will do anything to beat your shield of faith through family and friends to hurt you. Keep your shield up and tell the truth because the wicked take the truth to be hard (1 Nephi 16:1-3). Never be ashamed of truth and right.

Horseman of Plague - Like fire and pressure, this horseman wants you sick of God and the Gospel. He wants you to be sick of hearing gospel truth. He wants you sick of all things spiritual. He wants your stomach to churn when someone says Mormon or temple or a prophet's talk.

Horseman of Pestilence - How terrifying is a bee or a spider under your armor? This horseman wants to scare you out of your defense. He wants you to drop your sword and shield. He creates nick pick crap that tries to get you annoyed. He will get you to think of the messy things of the history of the church or gospel vs. policy. He wants to distract you from the iron rod, from your faith, from your covenants.

Horseman of Death - Leading all of them is the core leader who wants you to deny all of your core. He wants you to look at the very sun and say that it doesn't shine. He wants a you to extinguish the light that is in you so that darkness only remains. Suffering and dispare is his direction. He wants to extinguish hope and joy. He wants your faith (deep trust in God) to dwindle and die.

These are the horseman of our daily lives. We must be strong in our faith. The horsemen will shake us from without and within. Anything to shake us to the core. Fear not (that is in the scriptures 365 times). You got this with the Savior beside you.
