Primary 132 - Being a Saint
As we experience the church, we have to come to realize that we come from different backgrounds and our rearing is different but the direction is the same; Christ. When we take the time to realize that Christ has been there the whole time then we realize our path was perfect for us.
All to often we either become critical or are criticize for our place in God's kingdom here on earth but we must remember that Paul said the eye is not more important than the ear (1 Corinthians 12:16). So is it with saints that grew up outside of the church as those grown up in the church. Do not discount your experiences because we all can learn from them and become more united by them. We must realize that we are all in the same boat and to work at keeping us all in the boat pointg to the Savior is more important than status or color or political affiliation. It holds more weight then male or female, bond or free. "Seek ye first the Kingdom" (Matt 6:33) the scriptures say and Paul would of agreed.
Think of God as a chef or painter. When our lives are compared to ingredients or colors we must realize that a part of us is shared each time we take a calling or give a talk and like a lemon or yellow we cannot all be one flavor or color but it's because of our mix in each ward that the beauty of our diversity that Gods power and majesty comes out for each of us. Each experience we have with a person of faith or ward we visit or live in is meant to show us the power and majesty of the chef and painter. You are important. You are special and unique.
So the next time you struggle with a policy or change in the church or ward or a move bothers you, maybe a calling seems wrong, , seek the scriptures and the words of the prophets. Remember you are set apart, a Saint and child of God. You have a special calling, to be a light unto the world.
Have a great week
