Primary 129 - Council with the Lord

Image
image  (yes, we know it's Tolkien Council but it fits.) Children, When Jesus was raised and went into heaven, He led his church through the Hily Ghost.  Up to that point the Lord came to the Jews and Samaritans. It was during this time that Peter received a vision about eating "common" food. Three times he refused not knowing that this referred to changes that the Savior needed to occur in the church. A Centurion's servants came to the Apostle to invite him to be with their master and his home. It was at this time, he, Peter understand  and of course he went and it was then he understood the visionmore fully. He was taught line upon line. We are going to talk about change and council with the church and the Lord. As a church we have seen policy mistaken as gospel. For Peter he thought that the Lord's church was for only Israel and had to be shown it was for the whole world. Yes, we have had policies that were contraversial but the gospel has never been

Primary 128 - Pricked or Cut

I mage Children,  The Holy Ghost can touch us in one of two ways. Either we are pricked to do good or cut by the good word. The Greeks have a word for this. Hodos means "In the way". Is the Savior in the way of our success or are we doing things "In the Savior's way seeking His success?" The role of a disciple.  When the church has grown we have been given responsibilities callings and keys according to our ability and spiritual potential.  We should be eagerly engaged in the work we are called to do to lighten the load of those who are called to do more such as Bishops or Stake Presidents. Visiting the widowed and orphaned can be done by them but they ask many to be ministers to the many to bear the load. Don't just see the vision but catch it. When you catch the vision, it has changed you to do more and be actively engaged in the Lord's work.  Stephen and Phillip who were members of the seventy showed it in their actions.  Alma, Paul, Josep

Primary 127 - Theopulis

image Children, The Acts of the Apostles were directed to all of us who love God. Luke started the Acts of the Apostles by addressing Theopolis or "friend of God". You and I could have been who he (Luke) was talking about. He was addressing a witness who caught to know God and His Son through the scriptures, testimony, and the Holy Ghost. Hodos is also Greek meaning "in the way". Romans and Christians used the term to describe people. Were they on the path to Christ; in the way or were they in the way of others' progression; in the way?  The Lord asks us to be a witness. If there is an accident and ten people see it but say nothing was there a witness? When we behold the miracles of Christ and say nothing are we a witness? Do we lead to the light of Christ or block that light?  The term Apostle means one who is sent in Greek. The Lord wants to send us ahead to bear witness of Him to change lives. That means listening to the Holy Ghost and not just he
