Primary 123 - The Garden
Children,
The incident in the garden was rough. The physician Luke says that Jesus bled from every pore. After celebrating with bread wine and song, the Savior who knew the sacrifice had to begin, went to the garden with good spirits unknowly fully what was to come and as it began, like a woman in labor, asked God to remove the bitter cup but took the will of the Father over His own as a woman bears the brunt of their experience.
At times, we are asked to go through bitter times. The question we ask is to have our bitter cup of life removed and some of us become bitter because we have to drink it. We let the bitter cup of life, make us bitter instead of asking for strength to bear it. The Savior received an angel. We are no different. Angels attend us throughout our toughest times. They encourage and bear us up to complete our trials.
Now at times our friends will shortchange us. They will say they will stand with us and never betray us. Jesus had those friends too. When we are betrayed, know Jesus will be with you and send new friends. Maybe you are like David, king of Israel who slayed a giant only to betray a friend, or Solomon who built a temple only to build shrines to false gods, or Oliver who would betray Joseph Smith after all of the priesthood and revelations. God knows we are not perfect. Two apostles are mentioned specifically in their own betrayal, Peter, the Rock, and Judas Iscariot. Both did horrible things and turned their back on a good friend and both knew what they did could be unforgivable. Peter turned to the Savior for forgiveness and repentance and Judas turned to the world trying to fix it and hurt himself in the process.
Heavenly Father wants us to try to correct our mistakes through the Savior. When we do that, we gain healing and blessings are returned. We receive forgiveness when we use the Atonement and gospel principles to heal us. God loves us, friends. He loves us so much. His Son gave everything to help us be with our loving Father. Please know this. If you're testimony needs help on this pray about this. Angels wait to help. The Savior wants to know us. Heavenly Father wants us to come home. All of this started in garden.
We love you guys. Have a great week.
