Primary 93 - Ezekiel

Heavenly Father wants us to obey in hard times. At times others might criticize us for having a standard; standing for something we believe in. Don't bow a knee to your scorpions because of their gnarled faces or mean words. Stand by your testimony of Jesus and the commandments you have been given. Ezekiel was given those exact instructions.

It says in chapter two...

5 And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.

6 ¶ And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.

7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.

When your teachers were missionaries their mission leaders encouraged us to open our mouths, to speak the truth. It was hard at times as missionaries are criticized and mocked. The prophets before us were harshly dealt with too and perhaps harsher than the two missionaries.

It's important to bear your testimony. Whether or not people listen doesn't matter. That's their choice. When good people hear our testimonies they are moved. Some are moved to do good while others take our testimony to be hard or criticism of their lives. Show your testimony through word and deed.

An example of this was a story about the famous Sandra Bullock. The star had hired saints for a movie set and offered the whole cast and crew coffee from exotic places. The Saints turned down the offer. She wanted to show kindness and asked what kind of beverage they would accept after offering coffee, tea, and alcohol. She loved learning that these hard-working people wanted something simple as hot chocolate. She looked to know the workers more because of their example of hard work and the joy they showed in their work.

Heavenly Father wants us to teach through example. Work hard. Bear your testimony through word song and deed. People will gravitate to good and are repulsed because of their wickedness. Do your best. Love people where they are. They will see your sweet spirit and make their own choice.

Challenges
1) Read Daniel 1-6
2) Take time to think and pray about someone you can share your testimony with or invite to an activity. Write down your thoughts and feelings.
