Primary 45 - Prepare for the Bridegroom
Children,
A long time ago, in two separate occasions, your teachers decided to get married to wonderful daughters of God. They got in their best and most white suits and came to the temples with their brides. Their minds were contrite (obedient) and their hearts broken (repentant) wanting a unbreakable vow, a covenant, that would bind them to their brides. You see, they came to the Lord, willing to sacrifice being single to becoming one with someone else. What makes it even more special is the brides came to the temples for the same reason. They too were humble and meek. They had prepared for a life that would be enriched because of a union. Now many years later, there has been exquisite joy and deep sadness, children and homes, pets and cars and all of this increase was because of their preparation.
We're going to reflect for a moment on a Second Coming song we sing every Christmas.
Joy to the world!
Joy to the world! Oh, woah
Joy to the world! Oh, woah
Joy to the world! The Lord is come
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing
Let earth receive her King!
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing
Joy to the world!
Joy to the world! Oh
Joy to the world! Oh
Joy to the world! The Savior reigns
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy
Let men their songs employ
While fields and floods
Rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the earth receive her King!
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the angel voices ring
Let the earth receive her King!
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the angel voices ring
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the men their songs employ
Joy to the world then we sing
And repeat the sounding joy
Let the men their songs employ
Joy to the world then we sing
And repeat the sounding joy
He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove (And makes the nations prove)
And glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love
And makes the nations prove (And makes the nations prove)
And glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders of His love
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the earth receive her King!
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the angel voices ring
Let the earth receive her King!
Joy to the world then we sing
Let the angel voices ring
You may think, how is this a second coming song? Read it again. Is Mary mentioned? How about Shepard's? Wisemen? Nope. This song talks of our King's return and the blessing of his reign.
The Lord wants us to constantly be prepared. We are in so much chaos and turmoil that the Babylon we live in is becoming all we know. We need to separate ourselves and be a Zion people prepared for our Lord's return. He has compared his return to both a thief in the night and an expected woman. One story, we don't know what's coming unless we are watchful. The other scenario is the expected woman feels and is aware of every pain and change. Still they do not know the day of deliverance until it's right on top of her.
Be prepared brothers and sisters. Be prepared for changes both good and bad. We must make the attempt to separate us from the Babylon that has seeped into our lives in the form of media, television, radio, etcetera. This is done by being an example to others, a peculiar people, not hide in a basement waiting it to be over. This time in our lives is harsh but is preparing us for a great reward if we are watchful and faithful. Always remember fear looks back with regret, like Lots wife did to Gamorah and faith looks forward with an eye single to God's glory and a renewed hope like Israel did leaving Egypt. Look forward and be prepared for our Savior for he is coming. When the Savior comes we want the bond, the vow, the covenant that we have so longed for to be as special as a marriage. Children, we know you are not married but we hope you will be. Nourish and cherish the things of the Spirit. Make good relationships with your family and friends. Become a Zion person, prepared. Above all, always remember we love you guys and pray for you always.
