Primary 32 - All things are possible
Our dearly loved saints,
Challenges
We are going to talk about physically and mentally being ready for the Spirit. Our world is dangerous but like we said before God instructs the storm and not during. When we received instruction about things like our diet and lifestyle, the Lord gave it before Satan had a chance to create a church addicted and under the pressure of a dark force but because God is in control and know the hearts of men He can give us instructions that echo through decades.
This new law (Section 89) is not just food and drink instructions but life instructions. It talks about too much or too little, it talks about seasons. Are we doing everything to be strong, fit, and healthy? Are we doing everything to have a clear sharp mind? Do we manage our time wisely? How do we manage stress and anxiety; play games, music draw, sing? Brothers and sisters, you are a precious and chosen generation. You, thankfully, do not have to deal with adult addictions that quickly hinder our spirits from better understanding and embracing the Doctrine and Gospel of Christ. As life progresses, we will be tempted to partake in substances and activities that would lead us to a dark place. We must be responsible and diligent to avoid the advisory.
Each generation has received instruction explicit to their time and the Doctrine and Covenants are specific to our times.
Now let us discuss also one other thing. Remember how last week we instructed you to read from every good book? Our dear prophet Joseph did too. Part of his work he wanted to give many great truths that were available in the Apocrypha but were instructed that it was not necessary. Why? Class, when we read these things we want to learn wisdom and take the truth that the Spirit teaches us from those things to edify us. We don't need every book of myth and legend that had gospel truth translated for us. Just know that time has changed things and people put things to make it fit a narrative and not the Lord's plan. Nevertheless, the truth can be found in books like the Dead Sea Scrolls and Apocrypha, just follow the Spirit and prophet in all things and you will not be lead astray.
Just remember, keep your mind and body clean, listen to the promptings of the Spirit, read great books bear your testimony, and pray always. God is with you always.
We testify that as we do these things our relationship with the Lord will be strengthened. The knowledge we gain through the Holy Ghost will bless our lives and the lives around us. We love you guys and pray that you have a great week.
Brothers Keller and Bingham
