Primary 13 - Our Missions are not what We Expect

Our dear class,

We hope that Easter and Conference has inspired you all and filled your homes with the Spirit.

This week we are talking about D&C 30-36 and about the missionaries that tried to convert the Lamanite nations of the west. The Lord called several young men to be missionaries and as those that attempted to convert the Indians, they failed.

Likewise this pandemic has changed the missions of many missionaries but we must remember the missionaries that were sent to the direction of the Lamanites. They then gained 1000+ converts though not one Lamanite. They thrusted in their sickle with all their might no matter where they were and the Lord blessed them with success.

Now you must be wondering why did the Lord ask them to do it if they were going to "fail"? The answer is this...

It's not about the destination but the journey and the things you learn on the way.

Unlike story books and movies that are staight, the Lord ways are stait, that is to say a specific course to gain the greatest advantage. Strait water courses are crooked and with dangerous turns. Some ships do not survive but when the Lord leads the way,  amazing things happen.

A great example of such a course is the dream of Lehi. There is darkness, rough waters, floating buildings and a fountain. At the end is the greatest gift and to insure your success is a rod that if you hang on with all your might the outward danger means nothing.

Should you struggle, what you learn and experience is just as important as where you wanted to go (Celestial Kingdom). The Spirit will be your guide. He will be before you and behind you, to your left and to your right. Angel's cheer you every day, do not forget that.

Some days will be rough. During these times we encourage you with this message. Do not council out of fear or doubt. When times are rough and the sky is dark and you feel lost council with the Lord in faith and courage.

We are guided by principle governed by law, a Constitutional Democratic Republic. When we your teachers were boy scouts, we leads ourselves with mottos and oaths. When we became adults we were lead by Covenants and principles. You and we live in a world of laws, mandates and rules bu above all, we're lead by principle. It's important to live by those things. Find the paths that will lead you to greater and greater things. Follow the plain and simple truths that lead and guide us to victory over our Goliaths that would easily try to stand in our ways.

We encourage to work on developing a code of conduct as lead by the Lord. As great children, follow the code of conduct established by your parents for now but one day you will be on your own. The Lord will help you establish a code conductive to the Spirit for your selves.

When the world has been turned upside down and inside out, and you think your strait path is hard, we want you to turn to the Lord like Gideon, or Nephi or Daniel or any other prophet. The Lord is with you always and has sent the Holy Ghost to be your constant companion; constant, brothers and sisters, constant. Remember to have faith hope and charity. And above all we love you as your teachers.
