Primary 11 - Life's Test
Our class,
Our test are specific to us and is based on what we know to be true, faith in things and hope. Some tests are simple and some are hard. Poor Joseph saw and held the plates but could not show them or use them for his own gain. Emma never got to see those gold plates but knew wealth and had to take the word of her husband that he had a book that she would never see.
Let us give you an illustration of difficulty. Brother Bingham served a mission and while he was in the MTC he found it difficult to be separated from his family who were three miles away in Spanish Fork. The companion given to him taught him perspective. His companion cam from a country thousands of miles away, where he was the first member in the whole country, rejected by his parents for his faith, lost his friends to civil war and was called to teach, preach and exort as the first branch president of the gospel in his country, also translated the Book of Mormon in his native tongue. Brother Bingham was humbled and learned so much from a member who, at times, felt so alone and was under so much presure. Brother Bingham grew to love this fellow and helped him in any way possible, he even took him to the temple to get his endowments as he had no temple in his country to get them there. This member of the church had found joy in the gospel and was so touched that he wanted to share it with the whole world.
You will face challenges, obstacles that will try to stop you. They may be physical or spiritual but what ever they are they will help you become the person you were ment to be. Seek for any and all thing that will help you grow your testimony.
During your life it is important to cleave to the truths you discover. The way to discover these truths is the simple things; prayer, fasting, reading the scriptures and bearing your testimony. Share the truths you have learned with your friends, family and neighbors. Do not be discouraged if your message is no received. You did your part and spoke. What others do is up to them.
Another point we wish to make is revelations come in two forms; priesthood and personal. Heavenly Father is a God of order. He gives revelations to everyone and it's important to recognize the difference. For instance, the Prophet receives revelation for the world because he has the keys and authority for such. The stake president gets revelation for his stake and the Bishop for the ward. Finally, your father for his family. That is priesthood revelation.
Second is personal revelation. Some times Heavenly Father needs to tell you something in the moment. He tells you through the Holy Ghost. Things like "Give", "Move", "Run", "Say Hi", "Read", "Pray", etc. He also will inspire you to do great things and you will never be afraid. Discuss with the Lord through prayer what Heavenly Father wants for you. You are an amazing class and we want to give you inspiration so that you will be able to hear the Holy Ghost daily; moment to moment.
We encourage you to write down the revelations that you receive from the Holy Ghost. These can happen as you read scriptures, pray, listen in church or conference or as you go throughout your day. This will increase your ability to hear and recognize how the Holy Ghost communicates with you.
