Sunday School 40 - 3 Nephi 17-19

Brothers and sisters,

I came home from the temple today still reflecting on the things I learned. As I am at home I am pondering and asking myself where did I improve? Where did my testimony improve? I read the chapters over and over to show you. There was blessing the children and the people, and giving them the sacrament, the very things that we have today. The church was the same yesterday, today, and forever. Policy and customs have changed, but the gospel has been the same all the time.

Have you ever been in a meeting where you wanted the speaker to keep going, but it was over? Have you ever wanted to shake their hand or speak with them to learn more? The meeting with the Savior must have been like this moment. Here, the promised Messiah was before their faces, and He was more than what they had expected or read in the scriptures.

Brothers and sisters, the time is now that we need to study our scriptures about the Savior. When we hear talks or attend Conference, we need to ponder the words spoken and study them in our minds. The Savior asked the people to go home because he was sure that the words had overwhelmed them and needed to settle in their minds. We had a conference this last week. Have we taken the time to ponder the words spoken to us by the inspiration of the Spirit?

This week take time to ponder. We are encouraged to harken (deeply listen) to the Prophet. We are asked to not just read the scriptures but study and ponder the written words. I would encourage you (well all of us) to read conference talks this week. Pull your children in close and listen to the conference so that they, too, can experience the studying we all are working to accomplish.

Show how much you love the Savior blessing this week and I'll have something for you next week.
