Primary 135 - Gifts of the Spirit and Prophecy
Class,
We have discussed a little on the Gifts of the Spirit. They are so many but the last three chapters of First Corinthians talks about the Spirit of Prophecy and how that is among the most coveted gift. These days we see brothers and sisters wanting the gift of tongues and in ancient times it was so little in desire.
So we ask ourselves what is this prophecy gift? Don't only prophets have it? Well we are going to ask you this, do you have a testimony of Jesus? Could you share it with others? When you share it do some who listened or marvel? Your testimony prophesies of Jesus, His past, His present, and His future. That's prophecy,a prophecy that testifies of Him and what He wants for all of us. Oh sure we don't know the end times, point to point but we testify God lives, He is our Father and that His Son loved us so much that He wants to daily redeem us. He, the Father of our spirits, wants us home and wants to give us line upon line the things that will lead us back to His arms. On that day, the Savior of all mankind will meet us and say with you and anticipation...
"You want to see Him, you want to see our Father?" And then be lead by the hand to a Father's embrace. The godhead wants that for us.
Your testimony is just like that, a message of hope that is built on truth and leads us to our Father, to the... our Savior. Our live need the Redeemer daily to lead us so that we can know we are not alone.
Now a bit about the resurrection. Corinth struggled with the resurrection the restoration of all things. The very reason for our hope. We assure you that there will be a resurrection. We will all be raised from the dead. All of us will bend a knee and declare Jesus is the Christ. We will be raised from imperfection to perfection. Tears of joy will spill knowing that will see our love ones in the flesh but more then that, we will see our Redeemer in the flesh. We will touch those hands, kneel to those precious feet, we will see that beautiful face. We have a hope in Christ today but one day we will know because we see and hear Him. How blessed we are that our knowledge is founded on a bedrock of faith that we know that He, the begotten of the Father, lives and that we are in His prayers. We are in His thoughts. Every moment He strives to lead our path through a Spirit of God that burns within us, a whispering still small voice that is there in our darkest hours.
Jesus loves you and He will be there and carry you when you are at your weakest moment. We must chose to be yoked with Him so that our burdens will be made light. He is before us, behind us but above all, with us. We love you. Have a great week.
Brothers Bingham and Quan.
