Primary 114 - The Yoke
The Lord wanted the Sabbath to be a day of rest. All to often we take on so many things on the Sabbath to keep us busy. Good things. We are not ment to keep loading burdons upon ourselves. Things appropriate and inappropriate we place upon ourselves.
When we place the yoke of the Savior upon us suddenly the things of the Spirit become easy and light. This is not because it is light but because we have become strong with Jesus at our side, side-by-side.
When we work to raise and lift others through the gospel, we want to be single minded towards the Redeemer and help others come to Him too. Help others seek to be yoked and eagerly engaged in work that will make the body, mind, or spirit strong. Yoke yourself in good works that lift and edify. When we help others and do things that strengthen us spiritually we will become the people that the Savior can use and the people He wants to keep.
It is our prayer that you will take time to read and ponder the things the Savior did to strengthen His spirit on the Sabbath and mirror it in your life. Sing, pray and bear testimony of good things. Clear out the bad and repent regularly. That is our prayer for you, in Jesus name, amen.
Challenges
1) Read Matthew 13; Luke 8; 13
2) What did the Lord do on the Sabbath? Take time to think about what you do on the Sabbath and what you could do to make it more spiritually resting. Makes some goals and record your experiences.
