Primary 90 - Babylon vs. Israel
We study this week about artificial life, faith, religion, government, and God being poison to the mind and body. The soul struggles and starves when we do not truly seek Jesus in our lives. Isaiah warned us that the two ideals were identical but when we dive into the view, when we get close, we see how different the Church of Babylon and the Church of Israel are so different.
Today we will show just how different they are. The Church of Babylon teaches to be a boss, not a leader. She teaches lust is as valuable as charity. She teaches the beauty of our bodies is to be displayed through lasciviousness, not to keep sacred and shared with those in a holy union like temple marriage. She uses outward symbols to appear holy and repentant but their heart is not washed their mind is not connected to God. Babylon seeks to save her sinners in their sins, having no standards or law. This church disobeys the law or has none. Her royalty is fake drenched in the blood and sacrifice of others with nothing from herself. She, this church, is hollow.
Some of you may say that the world faiths must meet this description but it is not so. Many people around the world beg to follow the Savior and His law. They keep their bodies and minds clean with what knowledge and faith of the Redeemer that they have received from their preexistence and mortality. The two churches wrestle within us individually. Like wolves, one wicked and the other righteous, wrestle to be fed.
The Lord has given His law and gospel. He had given His Atonement to clothe us and shelter us but remember this, it is fixed and is unmoving. We must seek to come to the Savior as a chick seeks its mother hen. His Atonement finds us where we are and will increase our spirits and faith. Be bold and tenacious in our faith seeking the Savior and we will find the desire to do good. So much so that we will desire to shun evil and wickedness. Be careful to not shun people but shun sin. Love people and love God and show that love by sharing your testimony, strengthening your faith through fasting and prayer, and continuing to strive to hear the Holy Ghost.
We love you as teachers. Don't let fake faith fool you and recognize real deep soul-searching faith. Do not be misled by flattery words but listen to those that the Holy Ghost confirms. Like the hospital symbol of two wrestling over a staff, Babylon, and Israel at times are indistinguishable. The Holy Ghost will help you see good and know good.
Again we love you. Have a great week.
Challenges
1) Read Isaiah 58-66
2) How do you know for yourself if the gospel is true? The Lord doesn’t what use to be confused or hid in the shadows. He like his teachings are like a light on a hill. Moroni 10:3-5 the Lord promises us he will answer if we do our part. Write down your thoughts and feelings as you put the promise to the test.
