Extra - Thy will be done
Our wonderful class,
This week we are studying the three degrees of glory and the eternal reward for our work during this probation.
As we were looking at this we came to realize that our reward strongly hinged on one thing and that is weather or not we are willing to do the Lords will or our own.
How often have we looked at the four basic principles of the gospel (faith, repentance, baptism, & gift of the Holy Ghost) and said "they are so simple I can do them any time?" Reflecting on these principles, we come to realize that they must be a daily challenge.
Have you had a person, who after your constant disobedience, say "whell just do what ever you want; your going to do it any way." They than weep, or walk away in disgust because of you decision. Our probation is much like that. Heaven gave us agency and urged us to use it wisely. Heavenly Father has said these are my rules but thy will be done. The struggle in mortality is to turn back and with a Celestial heart say like Jesus, take this bitter cup from me but nevertheless not my will by thy will be done.
Brothers and sisters when we have a testimony of Jesus we have endured many things and will yet hope to endure all things. Doing the things that Heavenly Father will always give us Joy; always. It will not always be easy but it will always be worth the prize; a prize of glory because we did what was asked and we repented when we murmured, we remembered our Covenants and asked that the Holy Ghost be our companion; not just every once in a while but always so that when we go through our hard times we can say "I did it because...
Thy will be done."
