Primary 22 - Faith Preceeds the Miracle
Today we were studying D&C 63. At the time saints were having troubles with trials of their faith. Brothers and sisters, the Lord reminds us over and over faith precedes the miracle. At the time saints wanted miricles because they had been shown Zion in a vision and it was nothing like it was that day. The wanted the miricle first.
When we came to earth we were Celestial being being sent to a Terrestrial world. During our time we pick up habits and behaviors that take us farther and farther from heaven. While we are here we must find, nurture and grow our faith so that we can be worthy to come home.
Father in Heaven is eager to strengthen our faith and when we reach out to Him, He reaches out to us. Those that understand this principle come to realize that heaven will produce miracles over and over. All you have to do is look.
When Laman and Lemuel recieved a angel (a miracle) (1 Nephi 3:27-30), it didn't strengthen their faith as they may of had none. They had rode on the coat tails of their parents so it ment nothing. The opposite happened for the Centurion who when learning of his daughter's death when asked if he believed said "yea Lord I believe, help me in my unbelief." (Mark 9:24). This father in his moment asked for further faith to add to his existing faith. Brothers and sisters, we plead with you when you need more faith, pray for it; study for it. God will answer your prayers and meet you were your faith is.
We love you; have a great week.
Brothers Keller and Bingham
