Primary 4 - The Spirit of God

Image
Children, Heavenly Father desires us to do good continually. We want to stress for you a desire to serve Him and Jesus. Heavenly Father wants you to have joy and also to seek revelation. There are two forms, one, He speaks to your mind (do this; say that) and the other is a feeling. Heavenly Father constantly is giving us inspiration through the Holy Ghost. Feelings of warmth and comfort are equally as important as feelings of stupor of thought or nothing. Pay special attention to the feelings of the Holy Ghost. The Lord does not want us to be confused. The Lord is light and understating. When Oliver Cowdrey was with Joseph during the translation, the two learned about the promptings of the spirit and also the gifts of the Spirit. Oliver wanted to translate a wonderful gift of the Spirit, but over time lost the gift as he didn't exercise it. The same can be said of the gift of the Holy Ghost, of which you all have. Exercise the gift you have. There are many ways and her

Primary 3 - A Lost Account

Dear Class, This week we are studying Doctorine and Covenants 3-5. We want to stress at this time that these commandments and instructions were given to us, the Book of Mormon had not come forth and although Joseph had seen a vision, he had not caught the vision.  You see he and his friend Martin while translating was bothered by his wife and friends for proof of the work and of the Devine nature of the the message. What saddens many is that Martin and Joseph though had revelation and visions had not caught the vision and because of it was swayed to let the manuscript to be taken. You may be asking, how do I catch the vision? What is the vision? Our dear brothers and sisters, the vision is your testimony of the gospel, your testimony of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father wants us to understand the Atonement, testify of Christ and not be swayed by the devil's cunning words. We want you to not just have a testimony but share it; share it with your mom and dad, your brothers an

Primary 2 - The First Vision

Children, We again are so glad to be your teachers. This week we are studying the power of prayer. Joseph when he was not much older wanted to know which church was true and studied it out in his mind and heart. He wanted to know for himself an answer that he was having trouble finding.  We are so grateful that this boy wants something so sincere; a relationship with God. He had gone to churches and revivals (outdoor traveling churches) and asked them for answers and it seemed that he would never know as they contradicted each other. How frustrating that should have felt. But the spirit still encouraged him to pray and pray often about this troubling thing. Finally, he decided to pray out loud alone with no distractions or interruptions.  Class, we want to encourage you to pray for answers out loud, often, and remember that the Spirit will always teach you to pray. First, pray and give thanks for all that you have and have had. Pray for the things you are grateful for, the

Primary 1 - The Beginning

Our beloved class, Reading this week's message, we were impressed to express a couple of things. First, the greatest event that Heavenly Father did for us is established he was our Father and that truly his Son as our Savior through his visit of the boy Joseph. Second, Joseph was and the early saints were encouraged to build a home for Him, who sent us here, and his Son, who redeems us, to visit us. That by doing so we could receive blessings. Third, the keys allowed us to be with our ancestors, our mothers, and fathers; brothers and sisters. Our Father loved us so much that he gave us the priesthood and keys associated with the power of our father. Like a car battery that needs a car for its purpose of use, so is the power of Heavenly Father. Power is without purpose without the purpose of its use. Heaven would not be heaven without our families and so we start with the thing that is most precious to us. Children, we also receive strength, inspiration, support, and enc
